Monster Jam Is in Jacksonville… and So Is a Dream I Wrote About Years Ago! 🛻💨
There is something special about watching an idea you had years ago come full circle.
Today, Monster Jam is rolling into Jacksonville, Florida!
The massive trucks, the roaring engines, the big jumps and all the excitement are happening right here in our city at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
And it immediately took me back to a children’s book I wrote and published years ago:
Cat Salim Gets Her Wish: The Monster Truck Driver
What makes this moment so special to me is that this isn’t just a book about monster trucks.
It’s a story about a little girl’s dream.
Cat Salim loves cars, planes, trains—and especially monster trucks. She has a BIG dream: she wants to become a monster truck driver.
And somehow, that dream begins to become a reality.
When I wrote this story, I wanted children to see something bigger than a monster truck.
I wanted them to see the power of having a dream, believing in possibilities, and allowing your imagination to take you places you may have never thought possible.
Years later, seeing Monster Jam come to Jacksonville makes me smile because it reminds me of why I wrote the story in the first place.
Sometimes we have an idea that seems small.
Sometimes we write a story.
Sometimes we create something simply because we believe a child might need to see it.
And then years later, something happens that reminds us:
That idea mattered.
So today, as monster trucks are flying through the air in Jacksonville, I’m celebrating a little girl named Cat Salim and the dream she dared to dream.
Because you never know where a dream might take you.
And you never know when something you create today might inspire someone tomorrow.

Dream BIG!
Because every big dream has to start somewhere.
Sometimes, it starts with a little girl saying:
“I want to be a monster truck driver.” ❤️
