Plant the Word Each Day: What Are You Planting in Your Child’s Heart?

Every day, we plant something in our children’s lives.

Sometimes it’s a word of encouragement.

Sometimes it’s a lesson learned from our own experiences.

Sometimes it’s a habit, a value, or a memory that they may carry with them for the rest of their lives.

But there is one thing we should never forget to plant: the Word of God.

That is the heart behind Plant the Word Each Day Children’s Book: Parents Start Planting, written by Patricia Williams and Terri B. Jones.

🌱 Parents, Start Planting

Think about a garden.

A seed doesn’t become a beautiful plant overnight. Someone has to plant it, water it, nurture it, and give it time to grow.

Our children’s faith can be much the same way.

We can’t expect children to automatically know God’s Word when they grow older if we never introduce them to it when they’re young.

Every Bible verse they hear can become a seed.

Every bedtime prayer can become a seed.

Every conversation about God’s love can become a seed.

Every time we encourage them to trust God can become a seed.

And sometimes, years later, those seeds begin to grow.

📖 Why Plant the Word?

Children are growing up in a world filled with voices competing for their attention.

Friends. Social media. Television. School. Music. The internet.

As parents, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers, we have an incredible opportunity to make sure God’s Word has a place in that conversation too.

Plant the Word Each Day was created to encourage parents to make planting God’s Word in their children’s lives a part of everyday life.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

It can start with one verse.

One conversation.

One prayer.

One day at a time.

🌿 What Are You Planting?

The question isn’t whether we’re planting something.

We are.

The question is: What are we planting?

Are we planting fear or faith?

Are we planting discouragement or hope?

Are we planting doubt or confidence in God?

Are we planting words that tear down or words that build up?

Our children are listening.

They’re watching.

And the seeds we plant today can help shape the adults they become tomorrow.

❤️ Start Planting Today

You don’t have to wait for Sunday school.

You don’t have to wait for a special occasion.

You don’t have to know the entire Bible.

Start with one verse.

Read it together.

Talk about what it means.

Pray about it.

Then do it again tomorrow.

Plant the Word each day.

Because the seeds of God’s Word planted in a child’s heart today may become the faith they depend on tomorrow.
